MEDIUM: Textiles. I create hats and scarves with hand dyed wool and silk fabrics. I also knit and felt wool hats.
 
Nature and Architecture are my primary sources of inspiration. In my studio I create patterned fabrics using the traditional Japanese techniques of shibori. I stitch, tie, fold and clamp the fabrics before hand dyeing, to produce colorful textures, geometrical and natural patterns. The patterns, colors and textures I like to create are reminiscent of flowers, leaves, trees, sunsets. I also embellished my hand knitted an felted hats with needle felting designs.
