Joseph Edwards Alexander (1947-2008) was the artistic grandson the great abstract expressionist Hans Hofmann and the biological grandson of a famous New Bedford Whaling Captain, his namesake, Joseph Edwards, whose first command was the Charles Morgan. A master colorist, Joseph's 40 year career was a free-ranging exploration of color, texture, light and form.
