I have been obsessed with having my hands in wet clay since I was a little girl at the early age of five. It was first introduced to me in school for a Mother’s Day gift. Our teacher passed out balls of clay that we worked into tiles then pressed our little hands into to preserve that impression for years to come. Mom loved it and carefully tucked it away into her keepsake drawer that I would sneak into nightly to create little sculptures with then carefully repress my little hand and tuck away for the night. She soon caught on when she found wet clay pressed into the wicker furniture as a result of my newly discovered love for textures!

I found my way back into the world of clay during my freshman year at college. As a declared anthropology student, I took Ceramics 1 as an enjoyable elective, and again fell head over heels in love. My epiphany hit me the first time I mixed a five gallon bucket of glaze during a glaze chemistry class and realized that I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. My teacher laughed and told me it was a tough road and that I might want to reconsider, but I went forward and haven’t looked back, receiving my BA in Fine Art in 2002.

Today, I am still loving every moment that I can get lost in my work with a fresh batch of wet clay. I currently work out of my lovely clay studio at Hatch Street Studios in seaside New Bedford, Massachusetts. My work consists mainly of nautical and botanical designs that are translated onto tiles, dishware, and home accents. I also love the challenge of custom work trying my best to bring my client's imagination to life.
