"Local artists will invite the community into their workspaces during the eighth annual New Bedford Open Studios weekend Sept. 29 and 30.
At various locations citywide, the work of more than 50 artists will be on display, spanning all mediums from sculpting, ceramics, furniture, jewelry and glass, to painting, printmaking, photography and more.
Visitors will have the opportunity to glimpse what normally goes on behind the closed doors of these studios and gallery spaces from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
'It gives people a chance to see what's being created in the community," said NBOS director Catherine Moran. "There might be a great sculpture being made right around the corner, and you wouldn't even know.' "
